I am dedicated to creating a safe space for you to explore yourself, and any difficulties you may be facing. I am a registered psychotherapist with a passion for helping others. I have experience in the helping profession in a variety of settings including working in a university school setting, high school and elementary school setting, community-based services as well as in private practice. I have been working remotely for the last three years serving clients twelve years and older throughout Ontario.
I hope that if you choose to work with me, together we can explore your strengths, your goals and any obstacles that may be getting in the way of feeling like your best self.
I believe in evidence-based approaches, and above all else, meeting you where you are. I work using an eclectic approach to meet your needs, incorporating cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), narrative, psychoanalytic, emotion-focused, strength-based, solution-focused, person-centred, anti-oppressive and trauma-informed lenses.
In our work together, we will focus on establishing a connection, and explore your background information in order to understand how you show up in the world. We will explore your goals and intentions for therapy as well as the pathways and tools that could be helpful to get there. Together, we will examine potential barriers or challenges that may surface and work to maintain positive change for a more fulfilling and healthy life as we work towards becoming the best authentic version of you. I believe we all have the power to create change, and that we often hold the answers we are seeking deep within us.
I have a specialized interest in supporting individuals struggling with anxiety and depression. I also work with many other mental health concerns and their contributing factors that may be limiting you to be your best self. I have experience in: navigating relationship issues, trauma, stress management, ADHD, anger management, grief and loss, self-esteem, work-life balance, woman issues and sport-related pressures and post-injury trauma. I believe that everyone has their areas of expertise, and you know your story best, and I hope to guide you through your journey of healing creating new perceptions along the way.
