Clinical supervision is provided only by Carmen Jelly and is available for Registered Psychotherapists and those in the qualifying stages. I meet all the criteria for demonstrating competence in providing clinical supervision for qualifying and registered psychotherapists. I have over 30 years of front-line experience and 11 years of experience as a clinical supervisor.
Working therapeutically can be an isolating experience. The opportunity to share your issues and challenges in a safe group setting can be very healing and transformative. Other group members may have had similar experiences and have useful insights to share with you.
Clinical supervision is an invitation to reflect on one’s own practice, to observe others’ perspectives and develop a more accurate self-reflection. The growth process involves conversations, openness to in-depth reflection on self, practice and receiving both challenging and supportive feedback. Clinical Supervision is a great opportunity to develop qualities, skills and knowledge within yourself. We will discuss and explore the importance of self-care and Safe and Effective Use of Self (SEUS). We will develop competencies: an integrated set of skills, abilities, knowledge and behaviours that enable one to perform effectively. Some of the themes we will explore are: empathic abiding presence, attunement, safety, triggers, pain, shame, trauma, attachment, compassion, possibility and change. Because no single approach works for every client, it is important to build an integrated toolbox. You need tools and strategies from a variety of modalities
Self-awareness and empathetic abiding presence are essential qualities to create a safe therapeutic container where healing can occur for the client. However, parts of the therapist’s personality habitually enter this container and can take away from the healing potential, as they try to “do” something. We will explore the subpersonalities that sometimes creeps into the therapy session. I will support as you work through your own unique relationship to clients. I also place a strong focus on nurturing identity and impact as a therapist and using collective wisdom and support, both through self and others.
We are a good fit if your therapeutic approach is about breaking through cookie cutter and manualized approaches and utilizing an integrative practice. We will tap into your authentic and intuitive wisdom. By combining mind, body and consciousness based therapies with attachment theory, Compassionate Inquiry (CI) and other non-pathologizing approaches, we help clients move from talking about experiences to processing through it.

Group and dyad supervision is available online through an online video platform.
